WWE Hall of Fame 2016: Sting acceptance speech (Video)

A look at Sting’s WWE Hall of Fame speech.

On Saturday night, the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony took place. This honored some of the best past WWE Superstars and Divas who stepped foot in the ring. A celebrity was even inducted as well.

However, the man that many came to see go into the Hall of Fame on Apr. 2 was Sting. He was the face of WCW in the 1990’s and even took part in TNA throughout the 2000’s.

In 2014, Sting finally joined WWE and debuted at the Survivor Series pay-per-view, costing Team Authority the Traditional Survivor Series Elimination match. The Icon then faced Triple H at WrestleMania 31 in his WWE debut in a losing effort.

Sting would wrestle Seth Rollins at the Night of Champions event in Sep. 2015 in what turned out to be his last match. The former WCW World Champion suffered a bad neck injury that resulted in spinal stenosis, which will likely end his career despite not officially announcing his retirement.

Well, on Saturday night, Sting accomplishments were honored at the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony. The Nature Boy Ric Flair would induct him.

Oh, and Flair was about to say we were in 1916 or 1996 or something. He went way off script so who knows where he thought he was.

Sting would give a great speech and go over the greatness of his career. However, as it came to a close, he announced his retirement.

Sting had a fantastic career in wrestling and should be applauded for everything that he has done. He may not have went out on top, but he did so with class.
