Yaya Toure will leave Manchester City this Summer according to his agent.
Yaya Toure has been one of the best soccer players in the world over the past decade. Playing, and excelling, for Barcelona and Manchester City, the big Ivorian has won La Liga’s, Champions Leagues and Premier League titles. There isn’t much he hasn’t won and there’s very little he can’t do. However, Manchester City will lose the services of one of their best players this Summer, according to Yaya’s agent.
"“Manchester City promised a deal but nothing has materialised so Yaya will leave in June. Yaya is disappointed of course. But he is a professional and he remains under contract so he will continue to do his best for City. Various offers have arrived for Yaya and we’re evaluating them, but no decision has been taken yet for next season. We don’t put money before everything, but the project the club presents us. The best will convince us.”"
It is not surprising to see Toure leaving the Etihad stadium. With Pep Guardiola coming to Manchester in the Summer, there will be a change of regime at City. Toure does not suit the possession based, high pressing game that Guardiola will inevitably employ, and now at the wrong side of 30, he does not have many years at the top left.
Where Toure will end up remains to be seen. There has been talk of him rejoining his old manager Roberto Mancini in Italy with Inter Milan, but the decision has not yet been made. Whatever the case, it is a clear indication that City are moving on, and it looks as though there will be a major revamp of this aging squad over the next year or so.
