The Masters 2016: 10 bold predictions
10 bold predictions for The Masters 2016
It’s time once again for arguably the most exciting tournament in all of golf, and the first Major Championship of the year, The Masters. The grandest golf tournament is upon us and will take center stage on Thursday. After Jordan Spieth put forth a record-breaking and ultimately record-tying performance at Augusta National last year as he picked up his first Green Jacket, everyone is expecting all kinds of craziness once again at The Masters.
Spieth absolutely dominated the course last year in his victory as he posted a final score of 18-under for the tournament, tying the record of Tiger Woods from 1997 for the best four-round score ever. Though Woods won’t be playing this year to try to take that title back (not that he’s played even remotely well enough to make that happen when healthy anyway), Spieth could try to one-up himself once again.
Then again, there are so many young talents playing in The Masters this year and leading the way on the PGA Tour that it honestly feels like anything could happen almost more so than any other time in golf. While there are certainly the obvious favorites and so on, you could see things swinging in an instant at Augusta.
With all of that in mind and looking at the 2016 Masters, here are 10 bold predictions for the tournament.
