Cristiano Ronaldo was the rare victim of a defender’s nutmeg on Saturday afternoon.

Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the best players to compete for both club and country. However, an opposing player got the best of Ronaldo as the Real Madrid star was owned twice by the player’s defensive stop and then nutmegged that caused Ronaldo to fall to the ground in quick succession.

Ronaldo was threatening to score like he usually does, but he was stopped. Not only did the defender stop the soccer star, but his nutmeg broke Ronaldo’s ankles as he fell to the ground. This doesn’t happen every day, so his opponent should definitely have that clip saved by his team so it can be shown over and over again. It can be used as great motivation as they face the giants in other La Liga action.

This play also goes to show that Ronaldo is still human. He isn’t stopped often and definitely doesn’t have a defender school him much. Yet, Ronaldo will want to forget about this play real fast as Real Madrid focuses on domestic and Champions League play later this month.

Saturday’s action was a rare sight to see Ronaldo get downright owned by a defender. It won’t happen all the time, so fans who aren’t Ronaldo fans will definitely use this clip often when they want to troll the Portuguese star in any soccer related conversation.

It’s okay, Ronaldo. Even the best players get their ankles broken from time to time during game action, but it won’t happen every game.
