Brian Vickers spun out and hit the commitment cone while entering pit road during the Duck Commander 500.

After a two-hour rain delay, the Duck Commander 500 took off under a green and yellow flag. Basically, the race started under caution with the laps counting as they went around the track. It was an uneventful race at the beginning as the drivers got a feel for the track post-rain delay. However, Brian Vickers spun out while entering pit road to give viewers the first real interesting thing to see during the race.

Vickers struggled to get onto pit road as he spun out like the track was an ice skating rink. Pit road was more wet than the track when the race begin, so that’s probably why Vickers lost control of his car. As a result, he hit the commitment cone and was assessed a pass through pit road penalty.

In the end the penalty isn’t the end of the world as it happened towards the beginning of the race. Likewise, it’s better than being caught as speeding where the driver has some power in what’s going on. Luckily, Vickers didn’t cause any serious damage to his car or another car as he spun out at the entrance of pit road.
