A look at the leaderboard for The Masters 2016 after the Final Round of play

On Sunday at The Masters 2016,it looked like it was set to be a historic day at Augusta National Golf Club for Jordan Spieth as he held a comfortable lead over the rest of the field in the Final Round and seemed to be ready to just coast to victory and back-to-back Green Jackets. He would become just the fourth player in history to do so, but the Par-3 hole at No. 12 had different plans for Spieth.

Spieth started off the hole by hitting his tee shot into the water, obviously giving him a stroke and then making him take a drop. However, the defending Masters champion went full Tin Cup after dropping as he chunked it terribly and sent that shot into the water as well. That debacle on the 12th hole sent him tumbling out of the lead and down the leaderboard.

In the meantime, Englishman Danny Willett was having one of the best rounds of the day on Sunday at 5-under as he made a huge run on the back-nine while Spieth faltered. In the end, his run was timely and earned him the victory at Augusta and his first win at the Masters and in a Major Championship.

Now that The Masters is in the books, let’s take a look at the updated and final leaderboard:

1. Danny Willett (-5)
T2. Lee Westwood (-2)

Willett’s performance in the Final Round was, well, masterful. And now he has a Green Jacket to prove it, but he’ll certainly be looking to add more to his trophy case with three Majors still left on the schedule.
