LeBron James slid into Rachel Bush’s DMs and we’re trying to figure out what the hell it means.

In this day and age of social media, nothing is private. In fact, people are under the illusion that they can privately do things without it being blasted out there — but this is a savage misconception. LeBron James is finding that out the hard way by cheating on his social media blackout rule to mysteriously — and allegedly — direct message an Instagram model.

This isn’t the first time that someone famous has been busted trying to slide into someone’s DMs, but this is the first time that someone as massively popular as LeBron James has been busted. Essentially, LBJ is just like the rest of us in more ways than we know.

If you’re wondering what the hubbub is all about, LeBron apparently sent a Direct Message on Twitter to Instagram model Rachel Bush. She took a screenshot of the message and put LBJ on blast.

The reason everyone is all weird about this starts with the fact that LeBron is supposed to be in the midst of a social media blackout — which he calls Zero Dark Thirty – 23. There’s also the fact that whenever someone slides into another person’s DMs like that, it’s not because they’re want to know what the weather is like — at least not above the equator. LeBron is a married man with children, so we’re not going to make assumptions.

If you’re wondering, this is Rachel Bush:

But this is the age of social media, and these sorts of assumptions seem to be made without any effort. Maybe LeBron was just wanting to say ‘hey‘, but either way he’s breaking his own social media blackout rule which is the most notable part of this. That is, of course, assuming you desperately care about these sorts of things.

If so, free ice cream day at Ben & Jerry’s isn’t the highlight of your day anymore.
