Nik Stauskas was one of the last true gambles that former Philadelphia 76ers general manager Sam Hinkie made before being pushed out of power by the Sixers ownership in favor of the Colangelos. As a former high lottery pick abandoned after one season by the Sacramento Kings, Stauskas was the type of acquisition that Hinkie thrived in making, a low-cost gamble with potentially high rewards.

While the rewards have been modest at best through one season, Stauskas every once in a while shows some flashes of what makes him so intriguing, an impressive athleticism to go with his shooting. On Tuesday night, in his return to his home country of Canada, Stauskas decided to really show off.

He started with a dunk on a great shot blocker in Bismack Biyombo.

Then he added to it by emphatically putting back a missed Robert Covington three.

It remains to be seen if Stauskas will be a productive NBA player but plays like this will keep him around longer than they should. Just ask Derrick Williams.
