Liverpool made one of the greatest comebacks in their history against Dortmund, and here’s how it ranks in their top five ever.

If you missed it, Liverpool just came back after being down 3-1 to Dortmund in the Europa League quarterfinal on Thursday. After the first leg played to a 1-1 draw, Liverpool went home positively for the second leg, taking the all so precious away goal.

However, Dortmund, whose former coach was on the other sideline, did not just crawl over and die. In fact they had Liverpool on the verge of being out of the Europa League and virtually done with competitive soccer for the rest of the season (out of the Premier League race).

Despite most people thinking that Dortmund’s third goal was the final nail in the coffin for the Reds, whose three away goals meant Liverpool would have to win 4-3, Liverpool gave their fans hope in the second half. After tying it up 3-3 with nearly twenty minutes left, Liverpool not only had a shot, but looked likely to make one of the greatest comebacks ever. With four minutes of extra time, they put a dagger in the hearts of Dortmund and came away with the unlikeliest of wins.

This comeback ranks high up in one of the greatest comebacks of all-time, not just in Liverpool’s illustrious history. But Liverpool has been around long enough to have their own top five comebacks of all-time list.
