3. Liverpool vs. West Ham, FA Cup Final

Liverpool has made a habit of having amazing comebacks in big games. Granted, for their fans it’s never fun during, but looking back, Liverpool vs. West Ham is the third best comeback in Liverpool history.

The Reds went down to West Ham early in this game 2-0. Liverpool wasn’t done, though. After a beautiful ball from Gerrard, Djibril Cisse got one back for the Reds who went into halftime down 2-1, but with hope.

Early in the second half, Liverpool pulled level. In the 54th minute, who other than Steven Gerrard to put them on level terms with the Hammers. West Ham fought back. Within ten minutes, West Ham was back on top, 3-2.

When a team comes back from two goals down and immediately gets scored on, it’s deflating. Most teams would give up and not be able to make a comeback, but Liverpool didn’t. Steven Gerrard brought them back to life, so you can see why he’s a legend. Once again, from distance, Gerrard put Liverpool all square with West Ham 3-3.

Absolutely absurd from the legend. Two goals and an assist. Liverpool went on to win the final in penalties.
