Green Bay Packers’ 2016 schedule released

Rejoice Packers’ fans, Green Bay has the NFL’s easiest schedule for 2016.

The Green Bay Packers, who finished 10-6 last season and advanced to the Divisional round of the Playoffs, will play the NFL’s easiest schedule in 2016 with a combined opponent record of 117-139 (.457).

After winning the NFC North every season from 2011 to 2014, the Packers were finally toppled by the Minnesota Vikings last season and therefore will not be forced to play a first-place schedule, avoiding the two teams they lost to 2016 in the Carolina Panthers and Arizona Cardinals.

Another significant contributing factor leading to the league’s softest schedule is the tremendous fortune of playing both the traditionally weak AFC South and last season’s worst division, the NFC East. These two divisions had a combined winning percentage of just .399 with no team finishing over 9-7 and neither division champion winning a single playoff game.

Here’s a look at exactly who the Packers will play each week during the 2016 NFL season:

The rest of the NFC North teams are not too far behind with the Chicago Bears having the second easiest (.461), the Detroit Lions with the fourth easiest (.465), and Minnesota Vikings coming in last with the 18th easiest (.488) schedule for 2016.

On a rather quirky note, the Packers will host the Dallas Cowboys at Lambeau Field for the third straight year (2014 Playoffs and 2015 regular season) and will face the Seattle Seahawks for the fourth time in five seasons.
