Minnesota Wild goalie Devan Dubnyk thinks the NHL had it out for him in Game 2 vs. Dallas.

One of the most controversial calls so far of the NHL playoffs came in Game 2 of the Stars-Wild series. Dallas was given a go-ahead goal on what appeared to be a kicked onto the back of Wild goalie Devan Dubnyk who then fell into the goal — dislodging it — and allowing the puck to enter the goal area.

This was initially waived off on the ice, but was overturned and ruled a goal after officials in Toronto took a closer look.

After the game, Dubnyk — who initially told reporters he didn’t want to talk about the goal because he didn’t want to get fined — basically said the NHL had it out for the Wild.

He’s not wrong about the blown call, and this is going to be something that NHL pundits talk about for a while. The goal was waived off on the ice by the officials, who then spent a solid 5 minutes on the phone with league officials in Toronto who overturned a call that probably shouldn’t have been changed.

That being said, the officials in Toronto indeed had the better look at the goal, but Wild fans looking for more of a reason to be livid about the Game 2 loss now have the dots to connect in this conspiracy theory.
