FanDuel NBA Picks For April 18

Man what a weekend in the NBA! Before we can get in to everything I’d like to talk about Stan Van Gundy’s post game Lebron comments. Now, I realize Lebron is a special guy and the face of the NBA. The NBA needs Lebron. But honestly, I’ve never liked nor been impressed by him. He was given the moniker “King James” his rookie year. King. Never won anything, never did anything yet he was the “King” his rookie season. Flees Cleveland soap opera style to take his talents to Miami. Becomes a full blown winner in Miami. So then what’s he do? Flees Miami soap opera style back to Cleveland and hasn’t done anything since. They should have named him “Flee” James. Van Gundy is 100% correct when he says “the NBA is going to let him do whatever he wants”. They always have. So I predict Cleveland makes it back to the Finals. That’s what the NBA wants. I do not however, pick them to win. I think that’s the greatest conspiracy going, not J.F.K and not 9/11 being a controlled demolition.. But the NBA wants Lebron to fail. The NBA commissioner is no better than Vince McMahon except Vince actually gets in the ring. So yes I’m saying it’s fixed, pre-detirmined whatever you want to call it. Someone knows something. Lebron will never win a title in Cleveland.

There’s a few games on the NBA schedule tonight. Fanduel has a free play game that I’m entering. It costs nothing to play and you actually win prizes so its worth a shot on principal alone. Something for nothing sounds good to me. You’re biggest obstacle is the 100,000 other people who enter but I consulted my trusty magic 8 ball that my kids got for Christmas and asked it if I’d win and after saying outlook hazy I shook it up again and it said certainly. So I couldn’t be more confident about this line up.

The games on the schedule are all play off games, mucho importante’ to the deportes fans out there. What that means is the stars will bring it, unless those stars play for Toronto. The Raptors are and always have been horrible in the playoffs. They’re on their home court against Indiana tonight but that doesn’t matter. And that’s a shame because I’m a firm believer that if you’re home in the playoffs, you win. Maybe that’s why I like fantasy games because you’re not predicting winners/losers you’re predicting who plays well. So the contest in the NBA playoffs by Bud Light free play. You must be 21 to play. The top prize is entry into NBAFP Finals Tournament. You win something like that and your blue collar days are over. I want us to win.

My point guards tonight are Mr. Automatic Russell Westbrook. Averages 48.8 points a game and last game against Dallas scored 43 points in 30 minutes. He’s the best guard available. Especially with Curry rolling his ankle. That situation makes me leery about Curry. And Curry’s listed at 10,900 and Westbrook is 10,500. Should be the other way around with Curry a game time decision. Golden State may choose to roll without Curry but their next best point guard is Shaun Livingston- also a game time decision. He’s got some sort of illness so if you were looking for a cheap fill in, it might not be Livingston. A team with point guard possibility is either Indiana and George Hill or Dallas. Deron Williams and Barrea are both out. So that leaves Raymond Felton at 4700, Hill at 4800 or Houston’s Patrick Beverley who got roasted at home so image what’s going to be in Golden State. If Houston was a cook out, this next game is a bon fire. I’ll take George Hill and his 23.5 points per game.

My shooting guards- I like Monta Ellis at 6000. He had a good season and was productive against Toronto. Now here’s where it gets ugly. Harden is listed at 10300. Demar DeRozen is at 7900. Klay Thompson at 7200. I like Thompson with Curry hobbled he will be bombs away. 40 points is a reality for Klay.

We’re at 31500 with 5 players to go. We have to be careful with our picks from here on out. You need the perfect line up to win and our first 4 are perfect. Our small forwards is crazy. Harden and his 46.3 points per game are 10300. Paul George and 38.8 are at 9000. Then comes the drop off in price and talent. Trevor Ariza of Houston is 24.8 PPG and listed at 6100. Next is Toronto’s Demarre Carroll 5100 for 21 points. I’m taking Paul George because he destroyed Toronto and looks MVPish to me. Now comes the great debate. Harrison Barnes at 4700 for his 21 PPG or Michael Beasley at 3900 for his 20.6 PPG. Beasley spent most of his year over seas for whatever reason after Miami didn’t re-sign him and did pretty good. He even had a couple good games when he returned. Barnes could be a sleeper with Curry out. This is the make or break choice of this whole tournament. Beasley scored around 8 points his last game so I’m scared to take him. Houston’s probably getting blown out again so I’m hoping he plays more minutes. I’m taking his 20.6 for 3900.

Now we’re at 18600. We have to pick 2 PF and a center. Draymond Green at 8900 is a no brainier. We need him and his 39 PPG especially if Curry sits. Green’s a triple double waiting to happen too so 8900 is relatively cheap for one of the best PF in the game. We’re down to 9700 and we have to skip our next PF pick and go to center. Toronto’s Jonas Valanciunas had a great game versus Indiana before he fouled out. He’s listed at 6100 and I think that’s a great price but we like our other guys so we can’t get him without adjusting. So what about Zaza Pachulla at 4000? Last game he had 18.2 points, scoring 5, 6 rebounds 2 assists, 2 steals. All this in 21 minutes so if Dallas can compete he could do well. Enes Kanter at 4600 looks good. In 24 minutes versus Dallas he wreaked havoc. 16 points, 13 rebounds, 1 assist. 31.1 fantasy points for 4600 is really good. Take him though and that leaves us with 5100. PF has a huge drop off too. After Green you got Nowitzki at 7000 and 30.4 fantasy points per game. Ibaka at 5900 and 25.5. Myles Turner at 5500 and 20.6. Ibaka’s last game was 35.8 versus Dallas. So hers my solution. We risk it all by dropping Westbrook and taking Kyle Lowry at home for 8200. George Hill at 4800. Monta Ellis at 6000. Klay Thompson at 7200. Paul George at 9000. Harrison Barnes at 4700. Draymond Green at 8900. Serge Ibaka at 5900. And Enes Kanter at 4600. This is the best team we can get.

Are we going to win? I’m shaking the 8 ball now. My reply is no. Lol. Any questions or comments, I’d appreciate. As always good luck fantasy players.
