4. Robbie Ray-Arizona Diamondbacks
Ray and the Diamondbacks are in San Francisco to take on the Giants tonight in an NL West matchup. Coming into the day, Ray is owned in 5.2% of ESPN leagues, but he’s worth a look as he takes the mound tonight.
Ray has had some control issues in his first two starts of the season, but the lefty has logged a pair of quality outings against the Cubs and Dodgers. He has walked nine batters inches 12.1 innings but he has struck out nine and allowed just four earned runs on eight hits. He comes in to tonight’s start with a 2.92 ERA as a result with a WHIP of 1.38.
He’ll be opposed tonight by the Giants’ Matt Cain who hasn’t looked good so far this season. If he can turn in a third straight quality start, I think Ray is in a good place to pick up a win tonight and can give you some solid strikeout numbers as well.
