Johnny Manziel officially dropped by agent Drew Rosenhaus

Free agent quarterback Johnny Manziel was let go by his latest agent, Drew Rosenhaus, after refusing to seek treatment.

The saga that is football quarterback Johnny Manziel took another turn on Tuesday when, for the second time this offseason, the signal caller was let go by the agent who represents him while he looks for a new football home.

Legendary agent Drew Rosenhaus, who drew headlines this spring when he agreed to represent the troubled two-year veteran, announced that he had followed through with plans to drop Manziel as his client.

Worth noting: It was the first time Rosenhaus had dropped a client in nearly 25 years of being an agent.

Rosenhaus previously had filed paperwork to complete the termination, but said he would take it back within the five-day window provided by the NFL if Manziel had sought treatment for issues involving substance abuse. The former Heisman Trophy winner in college at Texas A&M and part-time starter with the Cleveland Browns.

Instead, Manziel was seen at the Coachella Music Festival this weekend, where he looked like he hasn’t stayed anywhere close to in football shape for a team to seriously sign him in 2016:

Manziel could receive even more bad news this week as a grand jury in the Dallas area is expected to hear evidence in a domestic violence case involving Johnny Football and a former girlfriend earlier this year.

Manziel was let go in early March by the Cleveland Browns after two seasons that showed glimmers of hope but were overshadowed by multiple off-field issues. Manziel was dropped earlier this year by the marketing team run by NBA superstar LeBron James and his friends, who also advised the quarterback to seek help for his issues.
