Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Detroit Pistons

With the majority of the eight Game 1s in the first round of the 2016 NBA Playoffs being blowouts, it was an unlikely No. 8 seed in the Detroit Pistons that arguably put up the best fight of anyone. The fighting Stan Van Gundys were ready for the challenge of facing the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference, even in a losing effort. On Wednesday, they’ll look to replicate that effort for Game 2 at Quicken Loans Arena, only hopefully picking up a win this time around.

One of the big storylines from Game 1 was Kevin Love playing center for the Cavaliers in the win for Cleveland and doing so with great effectiveness. Moreover, LeBron James was able to play to his strengths as a facilitator and overall playmaker for his team rather than being forced to carry the scoring load all by himself. If the Cavs can continue playing that way and get that kind of performance from their stars, they’ll be hard to beat in this series. That being said, though, the Pistons could stand to improve as well off of Game 1. While the likes of Stanley Johnson and Marcus Morris shot the lights out of the ball early on, Reggie Jackson struggled late in the game and Andre Drummond wasn’t nearly as effective consistently throughout the night. If they can do that in addition to what they did in Game 1, perhaps they could still a win.

This game will be broadcast on TNT with live streaming on WatchTNT, which can be accessed using a cable or satellite subscription.
