Fantasy baseball streaming pitchers: April 23, 2016
1. J.A. Happ-Toronto Blue Jays
Happ has been on fire to start the season, and the only reason I have him over Santiago is that he has a more power-packed lineup behind him and should have a better shot at a win. If getting a win isn’t as important as strikeouts or a quality outing, than I would go with Santiago over Happ. It all just depends on your team needs.
Happ has allowed just four runs in his three starts all of which would be considered “quality starts” since he went at least six innings and allowed three runs or fewer. He is 2-0 as a result after picking up a win over Clay Buchholz (#3 on this list) in his last start. Happ went seven innings in the Patriots Day matinee allowing just one run on four hits to the Red Sox and striking out four while walking just one.
He has a solid 1.21 WHIP to go with his stellar 1.89 ERA, and he should be able to continue his strong start today at home against the Athletics. Happ was much better at home (5-4, 2.58 ERA) than on the road (6-4, 4.58 ERA) last year and went 2-0 against Oakland with a 3.12 ERA in three starts against them. Happ should be set up for success again today, so give him your first look if you find yourself in need of one of the fantasy baseball streaming pitchers available this Saturday.
