NBA Playoffs: Cavaliers vs. Pistons Game 4 recap, full highlights
The Cavaliers completed their sweep of the Pistons in the first round of the 2016 NBA Playoffs
The Cleveland Cavaliers were undoubtedly favored going into their Eastern Conference first round series in the 2016 NBA Playoffs against the Detroit Pistons. However, they may not have expected that the Pistons would be as prepared as they were to put up a major, major fight in this series. However, the Cavaliers were able to jump out to a 3-0 series lead going into Sunday night’s game four in The Palace of Auburn Hills.
While the Pistons were prepared to put up a fight once again and they took every punch that the Cavaliers dealt throughout the night, LeBron James and Kyrie Irving had more punches than the Pistons had defenses. Yes, Marcus Morris, Tobias Harris, and Andre Drummond all stepped up their games in this Game 4, but they weren’t ready to deal with Irving and LeBron both having big games.
Down the stretch, it looked as if the Pistons might somehow pull it out, but Kyrie first hit a monster three to push the Cavaliers up by four points. Reggie Jackson hit a driving dunk to cut the lead to two, but a Jackson missed three at the buzzer through contact—with no foul, it’s worth noting—couldn’t get the job done and the Cavaliers picked up the win and the sweep in the series.
