DeMar DeRozan slams his way home, as he tries to spark his trailing Toronto Raptors.

In the fifth game of the Eastern Conference first round series between the Toronto Raptors and the Indianapolis Pacers, the Pacers started off quite hot.

The series thus far has been pretty balanced, with both teams having split the series evenly at 2-2. However, in game five, after the first quarter was over the Pacers were leading the Raptors 35-20.

But, at the start of the second quarter, DeMar DeRozan decided to take a stand. After surviving yet another Pacers run, the Raptors needed to have a run of their own, and DeRozan had the perfect idea on how to start it.

It appears that the beautiful slam dunk did just that, as heading into halftime the Raptors went from being down fifteen points, to down nine. Going into halftime, DeRozan has 19 points, one rebound, and one assist. Although the Raptors have successfully trimmed the Pacers’ lead, Toronto will have to come out hot to start the third quarter.

The next game in the series will be played on April 29 at Indianapolis. This means that the Raptors need to win tonight if they want to have a chance to finish the Pacers off at home.

Last season the Raptors failed to advance past the first round after being swept by the Washington Wizards. If the Raptors wish to continue in the playoffs then the team will need plenty of highlight plays by DeRozan.
