3. Josh Tomlin-Cleveland Indians (21.4%)
Tomlin only has two starts this season, but he has been impressive in both outings and is in a good matchup tonight against the Twins in Minnesota. He doesn’t usually pick up a ton of strikeouts but if you need solid innings and a good shot at a win, he definitely is worth a look.
Tomlin was forced to leave his fist start with a hamstring issue, but he allowed just one run in his five innings before departing striking out six and allowing just four hits and no walks. In his last outing which came in Detroit last Friday, Tomlin allowed one run on four hits in 6.2 innings walking one and striking out four.
He comes into tonight’s start with a 1.54 ERA and a 2-0 record as he takes on the Twins. Over the last three seasons, Tomlin has great numbers against Minnesota holding them to just a .196 batting average and going 1-1 with a 1.93 ERA in 14 innings pitched. He should be able to continue his success against them and his hot start tonight at Target Field.
