Los Angeles Angels- Kyle Kubitza, Cam Bedrosian and Jake Jewell to Colorado for Carlos Gonzalez

The Angels offense is not good. This is a team with Mike Trout and Albert Pujols, but the thing is, they don’t have much else. Andrelton Simmons should not be hitting sixth in any lineup. Their platoon of Daniel Nava and Craig Gentry isn’t good enough. Nava is already hurt.

Enter CarGo, who would be the left-handed stick that they need. They could hit Trout second, Gonzalez, third, Pujols fourth and Kole Calhoun fifth. Or move everyone down a spot to hit them 3-6. The question is will the Angels spend more and go over the luxury tax, something owner Arte Moreno is loathe to do. While Mike Trout is in his prime, the Angels need to anything and everything they can to build around him while he’s among the best in the game.

For the Rockies, they get an infield piece in Kubitza who isn’t far away from playing in the majors. They get a bullpen piece in Bedrosian who could help them right now or someone they could keep in AAA and let him develop. They also get Jewell who can develop as a starter. Jewell was the Angels fifth round pick back in 2014 and is among the Angels top 10 list with Baseball Prospectus and Baseball America.
