Arizona Diamondbacks- Cash or player to be named later to the Indians for Marlon Byrd

The Diamondbacks can get a right-handed veteran bat in Byrd who can play right field. They can then move David Peralta, who has some experience playing center field. Chris Owings and Socraties Brito aren’t going to get it done there and they aren’t interested in Michael Bourn, who’s currently a free agent. Byrd only makes $1 million this season, which is a plus for the Diamondbacks who can’t take on much more in their budget. If they do get A.J. Pollack back at some point this season, then Byrd can be a bat off the bench for the Diamondbacks.

For the Indians, they got Lonnie Chisenhall and are getting Michael Brantley back within the next few days. The Indians have some depth in the high minors too if they need to bring up another outfielder like Tyler Naquin. Collin Cowgill is out of options, so if they want to keep him, trading Byrd would be a way to do it. The Indians can then pick what they want out of the two options down the line during the season. Maybe they want cash or they need an organizational depth player.
