Cleveland Indians– Trevor Bauer to Minnesota for Trevor Plouffe

The Indians and Bauer seem to have soured on one another, so it seems like it’s time to cash in on his value while he has some. The Indians can have Plouffe start at third instead of running out Juan Uribe every day which will make their lineup deeper especially with the return of Lonnie Chisenhall and Michael Brantley. The Indians have enough pitching and have some arms they can turn to in AAA in case of emergency like TJ House.

Bauer gives the Twins another cost controlled power arm they can use in the rotation instead of running out Tommy Milone and Ricky Nolasco (even with Nolasco’s good start). Bauer can strike people out, something the Twins have never really had in the rotation The Twins with this move can move Miguel Sano back to where he should be at third. He should not be a right fielder. They can give top prospect Max Kepler playing time along with Eddie Rosario and Danny Santana when he comes back. This is the time to figure out if Sano can handle playing third at the major league level, or if they need to figure out a way for him to be more of a DH kind of player instead. Maybe some of Sano’s slow start has to do with him playing at a position he’s unfamiliar with.
