WWE: Five ways John Cena can return
3. Help fight off WWE’s version of the Bullet Club
A few weeks ago on Raw, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows made their highly anticipated WWE debuts, taking out The Usos. One week later, they attacked Roman Reigns.
Throughout this time, they have tried to help AJ Styles, who hasn’t reciprocated. The Phenomenal One has wanted to take down Reigns at WWE Payback for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on his own, so he doesn’t want to see his old running mates help him out.
Let’s say then at Payback, Anderson and Gallows interfere and take out both Reigns and Styles, causing the match to end in a disqualification. With them could be Finn Balor who has been rumored for a call-up for weeks. He could be their guy that they chose to help instead of Styles, who denied wanting any assistance. So the trio of Anderson, Gallows and Balor team up to form WWE’s version of the Bullet Club.
In the weeks ahead, Reigns and Styles could feud with the group. They then realize a third partner is needed to take these guys out, especially after they presumably play a role in some way at Extreme Rules.
So, on May 30, Reigns and Styles could call in John Cena to help take down WWE’s Bullet Club. The Face of WWE has always been booked to take down these factions, so his placement here wouldn’t be bad. This would not be a scenario that fans would be begging to see, though, as the company has positioned Cena to pretty much “end” a stable or make them look weak. This was famously done with The Nexus.
Anyway, a six-man tag match at Money in the Bank could follow this up. Then you break off Reigns, Styles, and Cena into a three-way feud for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship for the summer and go from there.
