The Atlanta Hawks advanced to the next round of the NBA Playoffs after their Game 6 win over the Boston Celtics.

18. 104. 125. Final. 92

The Atlanta Hawks are the second Eastern Conference team to book a ticket to the second round of the 2016 NBA Playoffs. Thursday’s Game 6 matchup wasn’t much of a battle from the start. Atlanta marched into Boston and took what they deserved in the blowout victory.

Atlanta showed their experience at TD Garden Thursday on both sides of the ball. Their tight defense led to many open shots on the other end of the court as the Celtics had trouble stringing together offensive chances to cut into the deficit. Boston had chances to find a way to get Atlanta’s lead to single digits, but their shooting went cold when they needed it the most.

Boston’s fans didn’t leave their seats like the Miami Heat fans did in the past with their team down big. Instead, they hoped for a miracle at the Garden and cheered on the home team until the final whistle. The Celtics brought some extra energy in the fourth quarter, but they didn’t show up on the court until it was too late.

Three Stars

1. Kyle Korver

Korver was perfect from the floor in Game 6. He went 6-6 overall with hitting two threes on the night. He was one of the reasons why the Hawks’ ball movement was effective and they were able to find the open player often throughout the game.

2. Paul Millsap

Millsap was big down low on defense as he recorded four blocks on the night. He also opened up the game offensively with a team-high 17 points and had eight total rebounds.

3. Kent Bazemore

Bazemore’s play allowed others on the Hawks to shine. He finished with 15 points, four rebounds, three assists, and two blocks. He was a versatile weapon throughout game 6 in Boston.

Betting Odds
