Alex Rodriguez performed a nice gesture for a young fan at Fenway Park.

Alex Rodriguez has been pretty quiet since the beginning of the 2015 MLB season. He has stayed out of the spotlight, which may be for the best given the steroid suspension. A-Rod did perform this good deed, though that’s worthy of attention.

On Friday night, the New York Yankees played the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park. During the game, a young fan named David Moss asked Rodriguez if he could have his bat. The Yankees designated hitter said he would if he hit a home run. So what does he do? He hit a home run and had the New York bat boy give David the bat.

The story behind Moss is him, his sister and mother attended the game on Friday. His father died before he could achieve one of his dreams of meeting Red Sox slugger David Ortiz. Big Papi then told A-Rod this story, leading to the moment between him and Moss.

This was a very classy move from Rodriguez. Often times players don’t step out of their way for fans, but it’s always a nice moment when it does happen. This is a moment that Moss will remember forever and he’ll always appreciate this act that was done for him.
