A look at all of the selections the Dallas Cowboys made in the 2016 NFL Draft

After an abysmal 2015 NFL season that was marred with injuries and close losses, the Dallas Cowboys are looking to make it back to the top of the division in 2016. That all started this weekend with the 2016 NFL Draft, and they may have done rather well.

On Thursday in the first round with the No. 1 overall pick, the Cowboys went the way of running back and they chose Ezekiel Elliott out of Ohio State. They are hoping that between Elliott, Tony Romo and Dez Bryant, they could have a new version of the “triplets” on their hands.

In the second round, they really turned everyone’s heads when they took a chance on Notre Dame linebacker Jaylon Smith, who may not even play this season after suffering a knee injury in the Fiesta Bowl. However, Jerry Jones went out of his way anyway and now we’ll see how it works out in the near future.

Here is a look at the list of picks the Dallas Cowboys made in the 2016 NFL Draft.

  • Round 1 (4) – Ezekiel Elliott, RB, Ohio State
  • Round 2 (3) – Jaylon Smith, LB, Notre Dame
  • Round 3 (4) – Maliek Collins, DT, Nebraska
  • Round 4 (3) – Charles Tapper, DE, Oklahoma
  • Round 4 (37) – Dak Prescott, QB, Mississippi State
