A look at who the Miami Dolphins selected in the 2016 NFL Draft.

The 2016 NFL Draft has wrapped up with over 200 selections being made over a three-day span. These players are seen as the future of the NFL and will be relied on to make an impact immediately.

The Miami Dolphins came into the draft under first-year head coach Adam Gase. The team had been shuffling the deck in the front office to start fresh and bring in new talents coming off a disappointing year.

Here is a look at who the Dolphins selected in the draft.

  • Round 1 (13) – Laremy Tunsil, OT, Ole Miss
  • Round 2 (38) – Xavien Howard, CB, Baylor
  • Round 3 (73) – Kenyan Drake, RB, Alabama
  • Round 3 (86) – Leonte Carroo, WR, Rutgers
  • Round 6 (186) – Jakeem Grant, WR, Texas Tech
  • Round 6 (204) – Jordan Lucas, S, Penn State
  • Round 7 (223) – Brandon Doughty, QB, Western Kentucky
  • Round 7 (231) – Thomas Duarte, TE, UCLA

The pick that sticks out the most is Tunsil, who was the story of the draft. He was projected to be a top-10 pick, but slipped due to a bizarre video going online of him smoking marijuana out of a gas mask. It captivated the coverage of the draft and everyone wondered who would take the former Ole Miss Rebel.

If he can manage his off-field troubles, Tunsil should provide a quality presence for the Dolphins on the offensive line. Ryan Tannehill has been one of the most often sacked quarterbacks in the NFL, so to say he needs added protection is an understatement. This is a step in the right direction with the pick of Tunsil.

Drake from Alabama should provide the Dolphins with another good playmaker as well. He can play both running back and slot receiver for Miami, so this could be a dangerous threat for teams to watch for. Jarvis Landry, who broke out in this type of role in 2015, should make a great pairing with him. DeVante Parker can’t be forgotten either.
