Looking at the Indianapolis Colts Day 3 selections in the 2016 NFL Draft

Considering what they’ve done in the draft in recent years, it may shock you to find out that the Indianapolis Colts have actually been quite effective in the first two days of the 2016 NFL Draft. They clearly knew the things that they were looking for in the first three rounds and they went out and got them.

The Colts began by getting arguably the best interior offensive lineman in the draft in center Ryan Kelly out of Alabama. On Day 2, they then picked a safety in T.J. Green from Clemson that has the physical gifts that could make him a once-in-a-lifetime type of player. Finally in Round 3, the Colts again addressed the offensive line, this time looking on the edge as they were somehow able to nab Le’Raven Clark after the Texas Tech product slipped in the draft.

Looking ahead to Day 3 now, the Colts have five picks throughout the final four rounds, though they have zero selections in Round 6. However, the Colts will have the No. 18 and No. 27 picks in Round 4 (Nos. 116 and 125 overall), the No. 17 pick in Round 5 (No. 155 overall), and will close things out with the No. 18 and No. 27 pick in Round 7 (Nos. 239 and 248 overall). We’ll see what they do in that position.
