When does the 2016 NFL regular season begin?

With the 2016 NFL Draft wrapping up, most will start wondering about when the real action actually gets underway. Well, that is why you can to FanSided.

The regular season begins on Sept. 8 with the Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers staging a Super Bowl rematch. Denver will be the home team as the defending champion, making the venue Sports Authority Field at Mile High.

This won’t have the same look or feel of the Super Bowl, however. While Carolina looks very similar with the only notable departure being cornerback Josh Norman, the Broncos lost a ton in free agency. After Peyton Manning reitred, Brock Osweiler left for more money along with Malik Jackson, Danny Trevathan, Evan Mathis and others.

The first Sunday of the NFL regular season is on Sept. 11, with 13 games taking place. One of the more interesting games will be the Jacksonville Jaguars hosting the Green Bay Packers. For years, this would have been a brutal beating, but the Jaguars have some real players on both sides of the ball.

The regular season will come to an end on Jan. 1, 2017 with the playoffs starting on Jan. 7. The Super Bowl will be played in Houston on Feb. 5.
