3. Drew Pomeranz-San Diego Padres (39.2%)
Pomeranz didn’t get through the fifth inning in his last start and needed 101 pitches for just 4.1 innings against the Giants. He did still pick up six strikeouts, though, and his 31 K’s in 22 innings show his upside and potential for punch outs today.
The Padres have take the first two games in their series against the Dodgers, but they’ll have to take down Clayton Kershaw if they want to get a sweep in LA this weekend. Pomeranz will have a hard time getting the win today, but he is still worth a look based on his impressive strikeout totals.
If it’s strikeouts you’re looking for, Pomeranz has at least six in each start this season and had a season-high ten two starts again in his best outing of the year which came against the Pirates. He enters his fifth start of the season 2-2 with a very solid 2.86 ERA.
