Memphis Depay deletes everything Manchester United related on Instagram

Memphis Depay fueled rumors of a Manchester United exit when he deleted everything related to the club on Instagram.

A lot was expected of Memphis Depay when he signed for Manchester United in the summer transfer window. He broke out in the 2014 World Cup under Louis van Gaal when he was nominated for Best Young Player, and they were set to be reunited. He tore it up in the Dutch League, and who better to get him acclimated to the Premier League than his former manager?

But with Manchester United’s season getting set to end in disappointment, it appears Louis van Gaal won’t be the only one potentially leaving the club. If you go to Depay’s Instagram page, there’s only one photo on there as everything football and Manchester United related is gone in addition to unfollowing all of his teammates. Of his 2.3 million followers, Sky Sports was the first to take notice of it:

It really has been a season to forget for the Dutchman. In all competitions this season, Memphis Depay only has two goals. While fans were high on him at the start of the year, they’ve changed their tone as one person went so far as to change his Wikipedia page to “very s–t“. But by making this social media statement, it would appear as though Depay has returned the favor.

But for as bad as this season has been for Depay, perhaps letting him walk for a small fee wouldn’t be the best move for Manchester United. After all, just look at how well Chicharito is doing. Perhaps the best move for the board would be to exert patience and see how he plays under Jose Mourinho.
