QB. Clemson. Deshaun Watson. 1. player. 53.
I’m in love with Deshaun Watson.

Yes, I am fully aware that the Clemson quarterback stands at only 6-foot-2, but if you can see beyond that, Watson looks every bit like the best quarterback prospect in the country. He throws a beautiful and accurate ball, and while Watson does not have the biggest arm in this class, he has more than adequate arm strength. What separates Watson is his unique ability to move outside the pocket and create, both with his arms and his legs.

Watson rushed for more than 1,100 yards during his sophomore campaign with the Tigers, and that comes in addition to throwing for more than 4,100 yards through the air. He was also exceedingly efficient, completing 67.8% of his passes with only 13 interceptions when compared to 35 touchdown passes (and 12 touchdown scampers on the run).

As with any “projected” pick in this mock, we are a long way from knowing how things will shake out and Watson is the first of many underclassmen featured in this space. However, if he can simply replicate the 2015 season again in 2016, Watson looks a lot like the top overall pick and a future NFL star to me.
