With both Cleveland and Miami in the second round of the playoffs, Cavs star LeBron James admits to thinking about a series against his former team.

With just four teams left in the Eastern Conference playoff picture, the collision course is set for the Cleveland Cavaliers and Miami Heat to meet in the conference finals if they can both get past their second round opponents.

If that takes place, basketball fans and the national media will lose their minds over the reunion of Cavs star Lebron James and the team he spent four years playing for (four years that included four trips to the NBA Finals and two championships). Fans in South Florida, still bitter about LeBron’s return to Cleveland before the 2014-15 season, would love to have a chance at keeping King James from a sixth straight Finals appearance.

While LeBron James is known for keeping his focus when it comes to the task at hand in the playoffs, he admitted following Cleveland’s shoot around on Wednesday (ahead of Game Two against the Atlanta Hawks) that a showdown with the Heat has entered his mind:

"“That’s since I’ve came back. It’d be great to play against those guys in the postseason."

"“Throughout my whole career, I’ve always wanted to go against [Dwyane] Wade in a playoff series. We’ve always talked about it even before we became teammates in ’10. “It’s not been heavy on my mind, but it’s crossed my mind throughout my whole career.”"

Since LeBron James’ return to Cleveland (where he played seven seasons before heading down to Miami with his infamous announcement in July of 2010), the Cavaliers are just 3-4 against the Heat, including a 21 point defeat in their last meeting in March.

Cleveland will look to take a two game lead over Atlanta tonight, while Miami will look to go up two games on the Toronto Raptors when they meet Thursday night.
