Ezekiel Elliott’s jersey is apparently flying off the shelves one week after the NFL Draft

We are now one week removed from the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft and one of the biggest surprises came with the No. 4 overall pick when the Dallas Cowboys selected running back Ezekiel Elliott out of Ohio State. It is certainly rare to see a running back taken that high, but that is the direction that Dallas wanted to go in.

And thus far, Elliott and the Cowboys are reaping the rewards of the pick, especially when it comes to merchandise.

According to Fanatics, Elliott has the top-selling jersey among the rookie class after just one week since the draft took place last week in Chicago.

Really, this shouldn’t surprise a lot of people. The Cowboys have a broad fan base throughout the country and Elliott is really one of the more likable personalities in the sport of football, if you followed his career in college with the Buckeyes. It might be a surprise if Elliott is knocked from this perch before the season starts and actual football is played.

Jerry Jones made this pick because of Elliott’s talents as well as the way they can market him, and so far, the marketing portion of the pick seems to be going well.
