Frank Vogel was not happy about being let go by the Indiana Pacers on Thursday.

The Indiana Pacers made a bold move on Thursday morning when they move on from head coach Frank Vogel. It hasn’t been the best of runs for Vogel since he took over the team in 2011 as he was a successful regular season coach but was a game above .500 in the postseason.

Lest we forget the Pacers marching to the Conference Finals in back-to-back years in 2013 and 2014 only to get waxed by the Miami Heat. There were rumblings that Vogel might be out as far back as 2014, but the injury to Paul George in 2014-15 seemed to buy him an extra year on the job.

That time has come to an end though, but it wasn’t without some seriously heartbreaking savagery.

According to Rachel Nichols, Vogel basically begged for another year with the Pacers when he was on the phone with Larry Bird, being informed he was out.

This makes Larry Bird look even more savage than he already was.

It’s also a not so hot look for Vogel, who doesn’t need to beg for his job when he’s going to get a job somewhere else. The Knicks would be moronic — or typical — if they didn’t hire Vogel to take over the team.
