Looking at the full jockey list and mount for the 2016 Kentucky Derby

People love to look at a lot of different things when they’re trying to pick a winner in the Kentucky Derby. Whether they’re looking at the name of a horse, the trainer of a horse, the type of the horse, or even the recent race history of the horse, they look at everything. One of the more underrated things to look at, though, is the jockey and mount list.

Especially when you look at the last two runnings of the Kentucky Derby when Victor Espinoza was the jockey for both California Chrome in 2014 and then American Pharoah in 2015 (on the way to the Triple Crown no less), you have to realize that jockeys do mean something in this race.

As such, some people might like to make educated guesses based on the right jockeys and so on. With that in mind, here’s a look at the 2016 Kentucky Derby and the full jockey and mount list for the 20 horses that will be in the race:
