Toronto Raptors center Jonas Valanciunas sprained his ankle during Game 3 against the Miami Heat.

Both the Toronto Raptors and Miami Heat have had to deal with some major injuries during Game 3 of the second round of the NBA Playoffs on Saturday. After the Heat lost center Hassan Whiteside to a knee sprain in the first half of the game, the Raptors suffered an equally big injury of their own.

In the third quarter of action on Saturday, Raptors center Jonas Valanciunas came down right on his ankle and rolled it on the floor. He immediately hunched over in pain and it was clear that he might have done some serious damage to the ankle.

He would limp to the back and medical personnel and trainers would determined that he sprained his ankle on the play.

Valanciunas was having a monster day for the Raptors and without him on the floor, the Raptors suddenly lost the huge advantage that they were holding over the Heat. No one wants to see this series be determined by injuries, but it’s clear that this series is taking more and more players by the game.
