The San Antonio Spurs pulled out a tough win on the road in Game 3 against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

149. 100. 29. Final. 96

For the early part of Game 3 on Friday night, it looked like the Spurs might run away with the game just like they did in Game 1, as the Oklahoma City Thunder struggled with shot selection and finding a groove on the floor.

However, that wasn’t to be the case on Friday night, as Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook led the charge early for the Thunder.

It was an interesting night for Westbrook, as his shot wasn’t falling often and he willed himself to points by being aggressive in the lane. Still, despite the fact that the Thunder kept chipping away at the lead they couldn’t get out in front after they held the lead in the early part of the first quarter.

In the third quarter, there was some beautiful sequences by Kawhi Leonard to try and extend the Spurs’ advantage, but Enes Kanter working down low along with some timely shots from Durant, kept the Spurs from taking control of the game.

The momentum would carry its way into the fourth quarter for the Thunder. Finally, the Thunder would break through in the game and take the lead after a huge Durant three.

After a well-placed timeout, the Spurs would come out on a run and take back the lead after Tony Parker nailed a three. With less than two minutes remaining, Leonard would pick Westbrook’s pocket and make a huge layup to move the Spurs’ lead to five.

Then with 1:19 remaining, Leonard would feed David West, who would drive and hit a huge left-handed layup to push their lead to seven points. A huge steal would send Westbrook to the line late, where he would cut the lead to two points.

After Aldridge missed a huge jumper, Leonard would grab a huge rebound and the Thunder would be forced to foul. Parker would push the lead back to four with 18 seconds remaining.

Dion Waiters would bank an improbable shot off the backboard with 4 second remaining, as the Thunder spent a lot of time to get a shot off. With two seconds remaining, Leonard would hit two free throws and the Spurs would come away with a huge win in Game 3.
