Editorial changes at Upside and Motor

It’s hard to believe that I’ve been a part of Hardwood Paroxysm for nearly three years, and I’ll never forget the day Matt Moore, Amin Vafa and Jared Dubin reached out to me to see if I wanted to join the site. It changed my life forever. When I created Crabdribbles.com two years before, I didn’t have a long-term vision for my writing. I was just someone who loved basketball, and joining HP made me believe that my childhood dreams of being a sports journalist were possible.

That’s why I’m particularly excited to announce that I’m taking over from Ian Levy, now a Senior NBA Editor and Columnist for FanSided, as editor-in-chief of Hardwood Paroxysm. HP has grown tremendously under Ian’s watch and I’m thrilled to have an opportunity to continue building the site that has played such a huge role in my career.

With that comes some changes on Upside and Motor: As of today, Chris Reichert will take over as commander of this ship. As many of you know, Chris is one of the hardest working guys in the business. You’ll be hard-pressed to find someone who loves basketball as much as he does — particular the D-League, where he has quickly established himself as an expert in the field — and his passion shows in his work. I have no doubt Chris will make U&M bigger and better than it has ever been, and I’m excited to see where he takes it before he eventually leaves us to become commissioner of the D-League.

We all know it’s going to happen, Chris.

I want to thank the incredible staff on this site for making U&M what it is today, too. You are all gifted writers who made my job here incredibly easy and it’s been a joy working with you. I also want to thank Matt, Jared, Amin and Ian for believing in me and giving me this opportunity. I will forever be indebted to you guys and I’m determined to make you proud. Finally, thank you, loyal readers, for giving us a number of platforms across the network where we can keep writing about our passion. None of this would be possible without you.

That’s all I have to say for now. Thanks again for supporting the site and network, and we hope you’re as excited as we are for what the future has to hold.
