White Sox Trade Rumors: 5 early targets
Stuck in a tough division, the Cincinnati Reds are not going to be competitive in the National League this year. They are extremely likely to be aggressive sellers at the deadline with upcoming free agent outfield Jay Bruce being one of their most obvious pieces to move.
Bruce is a powerful hitter who would bring some much-needed pop from the left-side in the middle of the White Sox’ lineup. Todd Frazier and Jose Abreu have the White Sox set with power from the right side, but they would be beneficial to bring in a guy who can hammer the ball from the left side.
This would be a similar move to bringing in Reddick, except substitute his defensive prowess for huge home run hitting ability. Bruce would likely make a majority of his starts as the White Sox’ designated hitter, pushing Garcia primarily to the bench. That being said, he could certainly play a role in the outfield (primarily a right fielder) as well.
The White Sox are a competitive team who are going to be looking to add talent to their roster. That being said, they are not exactly loaded with elite-level trade chips. Bruce is not a perfect player, but he does fill a need for the team and should be able to be traded for on a reasonable cost. The same could be said for the rest of the players mentioned here as well.
