The Cleveland Cavaliers look ready to sweep their way to the 2016 NBA Finals, and look like a real threat once they get there.

The stars are aligning for the Cleveland Cavaliers to have their easiest run to the NBA Finals yet. Already, they’re coming off two straight sweeps through the first two rounds, taking care of the Detroit Pistons first before hanging on in Game 4 against the Atlanta Hawks in the second round to dismiss their toughest defensive opponent.

After Stephen Curry heated up during his return in Game 4 against the Portland Trail Blazers, though, it’s clear the Golden State Warriors are ready. They went to overtime which isn’t necessarily an encouraging sign, but once Curry (40 points) found his shot after missing two weeks with a Grade 1 MCL sprain, he poured in a new overtime record of 17 points to outscore the entire Blazers team to pull away and win 132-125.

So, despite the Cavaliers playing their best right now, the road to actually winning a championship is still tougher than ever.

Nevertheless, their road to return to the NBA Finals is far easier. They’ve elevated their performance at the best possible time and everything is clicking. As cliché as it may sound, they’re playing together, the ball is moving with constant, quick-fire passes, and winning eight straight games to start the playoffs can’t be overlooked.

Let’s get into the details as to why the Cavaliers have looked so imposing thus far, and why they’re probably ready to proceed to another sweep in the next round.
