Here are the five reasons the New York Knicks deserve to win next week’s draft lottery even though the technically can not win it.

In less than a week, 14 NBA teams who couldn’t make it to the playoffs this season will meet for the annual Draft Lottery as fans and the organizations will find out which team will have the top pick overall when the NBA holds their selection draft in late June.

While many of the teams are looking out for their own interest, the Denver Nuggets are going to be giving plenty of support to the New York Knicks. Why, you may ask? Because thanks to the 2011 trade that sent Carmelo Anthony to the Big Apple, the Nuggets can swap their first round pick this year with the Knicks if New York has a better one.

So, when it is all said and done, the New York Knicks won’t be making a pick that is at the top of the draft if they are able to land that spot.
