The 2016 NBA Draft is about six weeks away and there are still numerous questions to be answered. Early entrants still have until May 25 to decide if they will stay in the draft pool or return to college and attempt to improve their stock for next season. Some top prospects — like Ivan Rabb and Kris Jenkins — have already made their decision and will be returning to college next season.
The NBA draft combine takes place in Chicago, IL on May 12 and 13, and those workouts should help further shape thoughts on where certain guys will be drafted in June. The draft combine specs and results will be combed through over and over again and teams will make future decisions for their franchise based on wingspan, shuttle run speed and vertical. I’m being a bit facetious here, but the combine is important, especially to those fringe first and second round picks who need a quick boost heading toward the draft.
May 17 is a potentially monumental day for the lottery teams, as they will learn the order of the top 14 selections. I used tankathon for this week’s draft order. Keep in mind these picks were made with team need as well as overall talent in mind. The Philadelphia 76ers are on the clock!
