These five players could very well end up being the players on that end up on the cover of ‘Madden 18’ next year.

Every year, EA Sports picks one of the top players in the NFL to represent the league on the cover of the Madden franchise. It takes a special talent to make it on the cover of one of the most coveted video games in the world and each year, players campaign more and more to try to get on the cover.

With New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski  announced as the cover star for Madden 17, there is yet another future Hall of Fame talent that will be headlining the game this season.

While Gronkowski is a fantastic pick to be on the cover and certainly earned his way on, there are plenty of players around the league that also had strong arguments to be made about getting to grace Madden 17 and continue to have their star rise.

The good news for those players that didn’t make it is that there will be yet another game in the series next year. This means that if they can put together another strong performance in the 2016 season, then they will set themselves up for an opportunity to be on Madden 18. There’s always the chance that Madden chooses to put a legend on a collectible cover as well, but that could depend on future Hall of Fame classes and other factors.

Looking ahead, there are already some strong candidates that should be considered favorites to be on the cover next season. These are the five players that could have their chance to shine next year.
