Things got ugly after Jose Bautista slid hard into second against Rougned Odor as Odor punched Bautista in the face.

The Texas Rangers and the Toronto Blue Jays had an emotional ALDS series against each other in the 2015 postseason that ended with Blue Jays outfielder Jose Bautista bat flipping the go ahead homer in Game 5. Tensions have not cooled off at all since then.

Both teams met for the first series since the playoffs this weekend. On Sunday, tensions blew up after Bautista slid hard into second against Rougned Odor. The teams brawled after Odor punched Bautista in the face.

The USA chants are hilarious once you realize that Odor is from Venezuela. Odor took offense to a very hard slide by Bautista that bordered on being illegal thanks to the new slide rule. Instead of waiting for the umpires to decide if it was an illegal slide, Odor decided to give out some vigilante justice with his fists. Expect Odor to get a huge fine and/or suspension after this incident.

Bautista isn’t completely innocent in this ordeal so he will likely see a fine and/or a suspension as well. Toronto saw its manager John Gibbons and their first base coach get ejected in a 7-6 Rangers win.
