There are plenty of worthy contenders, but Deshaun Watson stands above the rest. Here are five reasons the Clemson QB can win the 2016 Heisman Trophy

With Alabama running back Derrick Henry taking his talents to the NFL, there will not be a repeat winner of the Heisman Trophy this season. Instead of Henry lapping the field, a talented group of players in college football should make this an extremely tight race.

Running backs Nick Chubb, Leonard Fournette, Dalvin Cook and Christian McCaffery all figure to play a large role in the race, while quarterbacks like J.T. Barrett and Baker Mayfield will also have a say. Of course there will be some surprise entrants in the field as well, but it is Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson who stands above the rest in my eyes.

Watson is coming off of an incredible season and is fully expected to be one of the most exciting players in college football. While he faces an extremely tough field overall, Watson is up to the challenge to finish the season as the greatest college football player in the world.

Here are five reasons why Deshaun Watson can take home the 2016 Heisman Trophy.
