Utah Jazz

Outside of the Minnesota Timberwolves and (maybe) the Boston Celtics, the most relevant team on this list in the present is the Utah Jazz. Utah probably would have reached the playoffs in the Western Conference this season if not for some injury issues for Rudy Gobert, Derrick Favors and Dante Exum, and Quin Snyder has this group cooking a little bit with a talented and youthful core.

Can you imagine what the Jazz would look like with another high-end player on a wildly cheap contract?

Utah is already loaded with Gobert, Favors and Trey Lyles in the frontcourt, Rodney Hood and Gordon Hayward on the wing and, presumably, Exum at the point, but more talent wouldn’t hurt in any way. I’m not sure that Ben Simmons is the best fit because he is probably a power forward long-term, but if given parameters, Simmons could succeed in Utah and Brandon Ingram is certainly capable of fitting in at a number of positions and providing lineup versatility here.

The Jazz will be a projected playoff team in the West next season barring huge and unforeseen roster overhaul, but if they could somehow jump from the bottom of the lottery to the top, the sky is the limit in Salt Lake City and, boy, that would be pleasure to watch.
