5 reasons Leonard Fournette can win the 2016 Heisman
1. Fournette has that ‘excitement factor’
Looking at 2015 Heisman winner Derrick Henry’s progression from freshman to junior season, he made incredible strides. As a freshman in 2013, he rushed for just 382 yards, then 990 during his sophomore campaign and then 2,219 yards in his award-winning junior season. Yet he was never considered an “exciting” running back.
Fournette is already leaps and bounds ahead of the pace that Henry had. In fact, Fournette needs just about 600 yards to finish his collegiate career with more than Henry had at Alabama and he has that excitement factor that Heisman voters love.
If a guy like Henry can bulldoze opponents on his way to an easy Heisman victory, why can’t Fournette bulldoze, spin move and juke his way to the top? He surely can.
All you need to do is “Google” Leonard Fournette LSU highlights and you’ll see just why he’s considered one of the more dynamic, electric players in the entire country. Every time he touches the ball, something incredible can happen.
It’s not just running the ball, either. He can catch the ball out of the backfield and take it the distance on any given play.
Fournette could be the most exciting Heisman candidate to grace college football since Reggie Bush — Dalvin Cook, though, is a close second.
