No. 9 – Hawaii at Michigan (Saturday, September 3rd at Noon on ESPN)

One season ago, fans of college football were wondering what to expect form the Wolverines and their new head coach, Jim Harbaugh. One season later, the Wolverines are looked at as a potential contender for the national title and Harbaugh has managed to alienate an entire segment of the sport in the process.

On the field, the Wolverines are coming off a double-digit win season that included a convincing blowout win over the Florida Gators of the SEC in their bowl game. Harbaugh has the players, coaches and fans realizing that the era of underachieving in Ann Arbor is behind them, and with rivals Ohio State and Michigan State looking like they will take a step back this season, this may be Michigan’s best chance.

For the Rainbow Warriors, it’s another chance to get national exposure and make a hefty paycheck for their services. No one expects that Hawaii will be able to hang with Harbaugh’s team, but it will give them a chance to get ready for the season and maybe toughen them up for a run at the Mountain West Conference championship this season (a league that will be up for grabs in 2016).
